Hoonboy was invented in a caravan which later burned to the ground.

Inspired by a mis-spent youth dabbling in the UK rave scene, hoonboy first picked up a set of decks at the relatively old age of 19. Unfortunately they were a bit heavy so he swapped them for a laptop.

Using ableton, and a selection of hardware he has been able to create a breakcore-rave instrument that can be played live with devastating results. Fusing ragga jungle, euro breakcore, hard dnb and old skool, with an arsenal of breaks, samples, fills, acapellas and effects, hoonboy brings the noize - and the funk - to anywhere he plays.

Hoonboy now lives in Manchester, England and spends most of his time in a little box. His musical toys relieve him of boredom and occasionally he takes them out to play. Hoonboy’s style is part dj part producer, layering remixing and triggering vocals, drums and effects live over other tunes or segments thereof.
