And I thought Uprizing was fun . . .

Hadn’t been on a plane for a while and I was worried what airport security would make of me travelling with nothing but a case full of breakcore apparatus and a toothbrush. Luckily my little wheely case stows nicely in the overhead luggage compartment and the plane was half empty anyway, so no-one clocked the fact that it weighed nearly double the 6kg allowance. Its a strange feeling to travel in the evening with a bunch of holidaymakers and tired business execs when you know full well you’re on course to wreak havoc at some unknown venue.
Big thanks to Gearoid, Paddy, Man-G, the crazy Polish DJ, Charlie, Tim and everyone else who’s names I’ve forgotten. It was also nice to have a sound engineer on hand who knew the rig and was able to help me get my output eq’d properly for the room. Its not easy to turn up somewhere to a bunch of total strangers and try to party but you made my visit so memorable, and I really look forward to coming back some time soon. UK promoters take note, a little hospitality is not to be underestimated and really helps to make artists feel comfortable in unfamiliar territory.

The quality of the other DJs was high, with some good performances especially the Polish guy who was dropping some ragga stormers and a few classics to build up the heat earlier on in the evening.

Filthy, filth, filthy. The east coast massive certainly know how to run tings. They put me on quite early but I managed to get the crowd into it after the Peace Off tunes started coming out. Props to the VJ and the guy who installed the rig – the management were tearing their hair out over the insane amounts of bass, concerned about their impact on the structure of the building I guess. 4 twin folded 18″ bass bins and a pair of mid tops stuck in the middle of the room soundclash style!
